The basics:
The Italian word for appetizer is antipasti (ahn-tee-pah-stee)
Restaurants have fewer staff, expect slower service and a longer wait time.
I would recommend you make a reservation for dinner.
Because of there being fewer staff, it is not recommended that you make changes to menu.
Steak is cooked no more than medium, this is for flavor and texture. If you would like a steak thats cooked more, order a thinner cut of meat. The famous Bistecca alla Fiorentina will be served medium rare.
The Fiorentina is dry aged for a minimum of 21 days, which softens the texture of the meat and one of the reasons it's never cooked beyond rare.
Steak sauces are not a thing. Steak will be served with a Kosher salt.
Tips are not required, feel free to leave a tip if you receive great service. Anything over €7 is probably too much.
Dining before 7pm not common. Please do not be surprised if an establishment is not open before then.

⚠️What you need to know about our steaks!⚠️
The famous Tuscan steak is called Bistecca alla Fiorentina.
The Bistecca all Fiorentina steak is no less than three fingers thick.
It is served no more than medium rare ( let them know if you want this).
The Fiorentina is perfect for those who like steak tartar, carpaccio, “bloody” steaks.
The more you cook the Fiorentina, the more chewy and unpleasant it will become.
Diaframma di manzo ( skirt steak), or the Filet is a better choice if you want your steak cooked more ( less rare).
The restaurant will bring the steak to your table for you to see, before cooking it.
The steak is seasoned in the kitchen and will come with seat salt on the side to add if you would like. This allows you to enjoy and appreciate all of its flavors.
The Fiorentina steak is a FAMOUS steak and was created in the capital of Tuscany, Florence, in the 1500s. The size of the steak and the way it is prepared is part of tradition and culture and Tuscans are proud of this.
